ABOUT US Miss Gay Delaware America is a state preliminary pageant to the Miss Gay America pageant; the oldest and most prestigious pageant system for female impersonation. Female impersonation is a professional art form and not just "guys in dresses". Female impersonation dates back to the 13th century and today includes many well know entertainers such as Divine, RuPaul, Dame Edna, Christopher Peterson, etc. Miss Gay Delaware America is owned by Manakin Productions LLC, Easton MD - Scott Ross & Barry Sabo, Promoters Scott is an independent hair stylist in Easton MD (Scott's Spot). Scott is also a certified trainer for the American Cancer Society's "Look Good Feel Better" program. Scott's alter ego, Miranda B. Michaels (formerly Miranda Bryant), has come out of retirement to help promote this art form. Barry is new to female impersonation pageants and is a tech support representative for Easton Online; a local internet service provider. Barry also has sound/light tech experience with Tred Avon Players; a local community theatre in Oxford Maryland. Scott & Barry live in Easton Maryland along with their 4 cats (Silly, Shelby, Junior, BooBoo) and 7 ferrets (Cosme, Sidney, Widget, Pixels, Tippie Toes, Blair, Mango) and 2 domestic rats (Kelli, PipSqueek). We decide to purchase Miss Gay Delaware America in 2006 to further promote the art of female impersonation. Scott has always dreamed of owning Miss Gay Delaware America and his dream has now come true. We are excited about this new venture in our lives and hope you will join us. |
